lyrics

Bobby C
Known as Bobby McGee to me
I was eighteen years old
I think he was twenty-three
But he was full of shit
So who really knows
Each time I look back
My resentment just grows
He played me for a fool
Treated me with cruelty
Oh Bobby
I try not to dwell
On bad memories from the past
Oh Bobby
I just saw you as a hobby
You saw me as a piece of ass
I don't believe that you're sorry
I don't forgive you
For sins of your youth
I'm sure you were cheatin' on me
And as soon as we broke up
You make your first move
And I know she was a slut
But you know I'll tell you what
She was still my closest friend
Back then
You tracked me down
Found I'd grown up so pretty
I got it together
Moved out of the city
But you haven't changed
You still play the same games
With young hearts
But you'll be alone in the end
It'll finally dawn on you
You aren't loved
Though you had many chances
You hit it
And quit it
And now you admit that
You were in love
You just didn't know what you had
'Til you lost it
Stop feeding me lines
I'm not stupid
And i'm not a kid anymore
When you walk out my door
Then you stay
Away from me
Oh Bobby
I try not to dwell
On bad memories from the past
Oh Bobby
I just saw you as a hobby
You saw me as a piece of ass
You've got some nerve
To come creepin' on me
Thinkin' with some sweet words
You could win me for keeps
As I told you at the prom
Bobby, i'm already gone
Then I left your side to dance
And find romance
I don't believe that you're sorry
I don't forgive you
For sins of your youth
Our time together reminds me
Even a good girl
Can make bad mistakes too
And i'm not your biggest fan
But you still made me
Who I am
And if all love were devout
I'd have less to write about
Someday you'll figure it out
Mmm Hmnn Mmm Mmm Mmmm
